Sean P.A Drummond, Ph.D: Sleep Disorders, Brain, and Mental Health | Self-improvement Atlas #11

In this episode of Self-improvement Atlas: The Personal Science Insights Podcast, host Aditi Kutty sits down with Sean P.A. Drummond, Ph.D., Professor of Clinical Neuroscience and Director of the Sleep and Circadian Rhythms Program Area at Monash University, Australia.
He is also a Past President of the Sleep Research Society. The three main areas of Sean's research are:
1) The impact of sleep and sleep loss on brain function and cognition
2) Behavioral treatments for insomnia
3) Studies examining the role of sleep in mental health conditions, such as post-traumatic stress disorder. Clinically, he specializes in the treatment of insomnia.
Aditi and Prof. Drummond discuss when bad sleep becomes disordered, how to achieve good sleep quality, and how sleep disorders affect our brain and mental health. Prof. Drummond also shares the best practices for dealing with bad sleep and sleep disorders.
