People say it’s too early to start retirement planning before 50, so when is exactly the right time to start retirement planning? Can we start doing it at least when we are 25 years old? What types of financial products should we consider when it comes to retirement planning?
In this episode of Self-improvement Atlas: The Personal Science Insights Podcast host, Aditi Kutty, sits down with Daniel Thompson – Partner and Financial Adviser at Finnacle, Australia. Having grown up and lived in different parts of Australia, from the outback to the city, he found one thing that was common to many: financial problems. He decided that he wanted to help and educate people in this area to alleviate as much of these stresses as possible. Therefore, he with supportive people around him built Finnacle to do exactly that. He is also the dad of an energetic young daughter and a huge Essendon Bombers fan.
Life can be complex, while at the same time there have never been as many opportunities as we have now. Our aim is to help people simplify their money so they can focus on what they do best and what really matters to them.
Daniel shares about retirement planning definition, when to start, and practices he has done and recommends to his clients about retirement planning.

Aging has been described as the primary risk factor for neurological diseases such as Alzheimer’s diseases, Parkinson’s diseases, and dementia. How does aging affect our personal life and development? What should we do to prevent aging brain and memory loss moving forward?

He is also interested in the science of science (meta-science) including understanding why effect sizes often decline over time, and how greater transparency in scientific reporting might address this issue.
Aditi and Dr. Schooler discuss the definition of aging brain, how it relates to memory loss and impact on our personal life, and different kinds of memory. Dr. Schooler also shares his favorite book, The Book on the Taboo Against Knowing Who You Are, from Alan Watts.

In this day and age, social media has officially been part of our daily activities. Not only is it used for entertainment, but also to connect with our family and friends. Some even make a living from it.
But what can we do when social media becomes our enemy instead when we have past mental fears and blocks? When this happens, we have to ask ourselves: Is there a better way to utilize social media?

Dianne has worked with various clients that range from influencers and visionaries to creatives and solopreneurs. Her work can entail living Twittering for an event, managing a high-profile account, running a workshop for creatives, PR, etc.
Through social media, our guest was able to connect with some of her greatest teachers and mentors. Aside from that, she also established wonderful friendships along the way.
Aditi and Dianne discuss how social media contents affect our personal development, what mental blocks and fears are associated with social media, and the best practices to move our past mental fears and blocks when using social media.
